Riga was a great location, with lots to see and do all within a short walking distance in the beautiful historical Old Town. The Kempinski Hotel was perfect, as the National Opera & Ballet Theatre was just across the road, and the room was very comfortable with all necessary facilities. There was an excellent breakfast service and plenty of good restaurants all around, serving food all day. The opera Nabucco and the ballet La Esmeralda were wonderful with top-class performers. The opera Carmen was set in a modern-day grey concrete factory, rather sinister and violent, which wasn’t to my taste and rather depressing, but the music couldn’t be faulted. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable trip and all the bookings and activities went perfectly to plan. Thank you!

Apart from the air travel we had a really good trip in excellent company. We enjoyed the operas, the guided tours and the lunches - it was good to see and do things which we normally wouldn't. The opera seats were as good as hoped for and the hotels were well located though the one in Verona could do with an upgrade to its bathroom/shower arrangement. Andy did very well to get us all through the flight delays and related impacts as well as through the regular days.Thank you Martyn and Janet Evans

Good hotel, well placed, good beds and breakfast, evening restaurant good food but very slow service. Included walking tour of Old Town was average, guide's microphone didn't work. We had much better tour of the castle grounds which we booked ourselves. The Tyn church staff were unwelcoming and obstructive, and the organ was defective but the concert went well with around 100 in the audience. The second concert in St Salvatore went better, and we felt welcomed, but the audience was tiny, so perhaps the pre-publicity could have been better for this. That said, there are so many competing musical events in Prague every afternoon and evening. It was good to see the three choirs mixing socially as well as musically, masterfully conducted by Julian.

Prague was an excellent destination, being beautiful and not too expensive with a fantastic tram system and walkable routes. The hotel was no more than OK. It was conveniently located. Breakfast was good. The room was skimpily furnished with only a tiny amount of shelf space, no drawers for smaller clothes items and little full-length hanging capacity. Service in the hotel was occasionally poor. The first-night "Reception", billed to be in an area of the Restaurant, was crammed into the bar with no hotel input to make it a "Reception". We are still waiting for the deposit that was demanded of us on check-in to be refunded. The walking tour organised for the first day was, in my opinion, poor. The guide turned up with insufficient audio devices and then could not make them work. She was therefore frequently inaudible on the tour itself, especially as she constantly moved her head so you missed half a sentence. Response from the Tour Contacts to my request for the hotel to be told of our late arrival was good. I do not know how well the Contacts liaised with our own Choir Tour Organisers, but I do know that one venue was changed and we are still waiting for some promised photos and video footage of our two concerts.

Good hotel. Good venues. Good tour. Shame our 2nd extra night was not booked in advance.
